I started this site to try to gather more verbose and useful answers to the same questions that appear virtually daily in the various great loop forums and Facebook groups. I try to distinguish between what is my opinion and what is fact, but sometimes the answers are a bit nebulous. I have no financial connection whatsoever to the AGLCA organization other than being a member and suggesting that other loopers also become members.

My wife and I have been owners of a cruising yacht since 2016, did several multiweek trips to get a feel for liveaboard boating, and became full-time loopers as of February 2020. We will likely be on the great loop through at least 2022, due to Canada’s closures this year, and possibly beyond.

We did a ton of research before starting the loop, and continue to try to further educate ourselves, so hopefully we can help you out as you begin (or continue) your journey towards joining us on the loop.
